Challenge

Arc set out to build the Arc Vector - a 400V, carbon fibre electric motorcycle targeting the high-performance luxury segment. The customer had following requirements:

  • Unique set of performance requirements and user interface requirements: (no off-the-shelf solutions available)

  • The project demanded advanced systems integration and software development

  • Novel rider interface solutions: heads-up display, haptic jacket

  • Testing and validation

Solution

Muon has supported Arc across multiple stages of the Vector’s development - initially as the lead electric engineer and more recently as a consulting partner to the in-house engineering team. Our contributions included:

  • Detailed Design Execution: Delivered comprehensive hands-on electrical design work across the entire vehicle platform based on initial design concepts.

  • Systems Engineering: Defined the high-level system architecture - establishing how electrical and software systems would interact, what interfaces were needed, and how components would work together.

  • Prototype Development: Supported early prototyping and integration of novel rider interface features including a heads-up display and haptic feedback jacket.

  • High-Voltage & On-Road Testing: Provided high-voltage live working capabilities, test support, and real-world validation to ensure system robustness and compliance.

Impact

  • End-to-End Engineering Partnership: Muon’s long-term involvement - from early concept through to production support - enabled Arc to move from visionary design to a fully realised, road-ready electric motorcycle.

  • Robust, Production-Grade Architecture: Delivered a high-voltage electrical system and control architecture that met the technical demands of a 400V powertrain and supported advanced rider features.

  • Seamless In-House Handover: Continued to provide technical consultancy and support to Arc’s internal team, ensuring smooth transition and scalability as the product matured.

  • Innovation-Driven Experience: Helped realise Arc’s ambition to redefine premium motorcycling by integrating advanced features like a heads-up display and haptic jacket into a cohesive, functional system.
